This month we are excited to feature the University of Michigan's Prison Creative Arts Project. We will hear from current and past contributing writers of the Michigan Review of Prisoner Creative Writing (MRPCW), as well as Editorial Committee members reading their favorite pieces from these extraordinary authors. Copies of the MRPCW will be available for purchase.
The event begins with an Open Mic session when area poets can read their own work or share a favorite poem by another author in a welcoming atmosphere. This is part of a monthly series on the 2nd Thursday of most months in partnership with Les Go Social MM&T.
The Prison Creative Arts Project (PCAP) was founded in 1990 with the mission to collaborate with incarcerated adults, incarcerated youth, urban youth and the formerly incarcerated to strengthen our community through creative expression.
Please note: Open Mic & Share Poetry will be on hiatus in January and will return on February 13.
